Murrells Inlet Real Estate
The peaceful town of Murrells Inlet is filled with centuries of rich history accompanied with beauty and charm. Written history dates back to the early 1700’s with english settlements and the land grants of the Lords Proprietors. There were many rice plantations in the Murrells Inlet area and still today the lands are filled with the picturesque beauty associated with those times. The historic rice plantations in the area are Richmond Hill (known today as Wachesaw Plantation), The Oaks, Brookgreen, and Springfield. Still today these names accompany the neighborhoods and clubs around them. There is so much rich history still to this day that are observed on a daily basis by both tourist and locals. Brookgreen Gardens and the Atalaya Castle at Huntington Beach State Park are still frequented to all throughout the year. The gorgeous neighborhoods developed on these well known Plantations are some of most sought after in the entire Grand Strand Area. The all private Wachesaw Plantation , Hermitage , and Mt. Gilead are definitely worth a look when deciding where you will buy your next dream home. Also known as the “Seafood Capital of South Carolina” Murrells Inlet is a suggestion you will almost always receive from locals when asking where the area's best restaurants are located. As for you golfers, the Inlet is known for some of the most well known elite courses in the entire Grand Strand. Murrells Inlet is the home of the only TPC Course in South Carolina. The Wachesaw Plantation Club is not only one of the most beautiful courses you will ever lay your eyes on but also one of the only courses in the area still preserving Bent Grass greens, a real treat for those folks coming from the northern states who have grown up playing on this type of turf.
